New Zealanders will have a unique opportunity to see some spectacular examples of Chinese cinema in October/November. The 2005 Chinese Film Festival will be touring Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, between October 27 and November 13, featuring a selection of 10 films from some of China’s top filmmakers.

In the weeks leading up to the Festival a senior delegation from China will visit New Zealand, including Huo Jianqi, director of ‘A Time to Love’, screening at both Auckland and Wellington Premiere nights.

The Chinese Film Festival is organised by the Pacific Culture & Arts Exchange Centre in Auckland, organiser of the very successful 1998 (1st), 2002 (2nd) and 2003 (3rd) Chinese Film Festivals in New Zealand and the New Zealand Film Festival in China in 2002 (1st) and 2004 (2nd). Other organisers are China Film Bureau and New Zealand Film Commission.
